TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE - I
Weekly Reflection - 8
Day - 33 (22 september 2025)
The day was the perfect blend of high-stakes performance and routine duty! The morning was a non-stop observation marathon: I was watching my peers, Shamna and David, teach Natural Science under Dr. Praveena , and then had the pressure turned on as Ms. Sreelekshmi observed my own fourth-period class. The lesson was good, but the students were extra lively, reminding me that the best-planned class still needs sharp-edged classroom management.
We didn't miss a beat! Right after the observations, it was straight into noon meal duty, followed by a dedicated trial practice session to nail down the plan for the upcoming P.E. observation. The day also featured a wonderful touch of student leadership with a lively morning assembly led by the Little Kites.
In the end, it was a totally an 'okay day'—which, under that kind of pressure, is a huge win! It was a valuable lesson in keeping my cool while juggling every hat a teacher wears.
Day - 34 (23 september 2025)
Tuesday was anything but routine at school! After signing in at 9:20 a.m., David and I immediately transitioned into invigilation duty for the exciting Sub-District Walking Competition selections held right on campus. Parallelly, we ensured our Class 8A Physical Education observation went smoothly, watching the students perform their drills with impressive discipline, earning praise from the Lal sir for their coordination. The buzz continued through noon as we helped distribute a special biryani meal and simultaneously assisted with the ongoing Kalolsavam writing competitions. Juggling sports, academics, and meal duties made for a demanding but incredibly rewarding day.
Day - 35 (24 september 2025)
The day was defined by the energetic buzz of sub-district selection competitions being held on campus, turning a routine Wednesday into a dynamic learning experience. Reaching school at 9:15 a.m., I was immediately assigned to invigilate the drawing competition and assist teachers in coordinating the artistic event, a fascinating break from the norm. Throughout the morning, I also provided crucial substitution support in classes whose regular teachers were busy with the main event, perfectly illustrating the real-world need to juggle co-curricular management with essential academic duties. Even amidst the competitive hustle, I maintained my classroom preparations and record maintenance, before helping with the midday meal distribution at noon and concluding the productive day with dispersal duties, signing out at 4:15 p.m. with a strong sense of accomplishment in having balanced multiple high-priority responsibilities.
Day - 36 (25 september 2025)
The first day of Symphony 2K25 was filled with excitement and artistic spirit. We reached the school by 9:00 a.m., dressed in green as per the theme, and helped maintain discipline throughout the literary and recitation events. The students participated enthusiastically in Hindi, English, Malayalam, and Arabic recitations, making the day lively and memorable.
