Alvida – A Power-Packed Farewell to Remember

Farewell 2025

The farewell party, Alvida, was a heartfelt and high-energy send-off organized by the juniors to celebrate and honor our amazing seniors. Every department came together to put on a show filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. The event was buzzing with vibrant energy, and the juniors left no stone unturned to make it special.

One of the biggest highlights of Alvida was the dance performance by the first years. Days of practice, coordination, and a whole lot of fun went into preparing this act, and it truly paid off! From peppy Bollywood beats to electrifying group formations, the stage lit up as juniors from all departments showcased their moves. What made it even more memorable was the participation of the boys, who brought unexpected energy and swag to the stage—earning loud cheers and applause from everyone, especially the seniors!

The event also featured a variety of engaging games like passing the ball—where the unlucky one caught with the ball had to do a fun dare, causing endless laughter. Tongue twisters had everyone tripping over their words, while the glass pyramid challenge with balloons tested the teams' focus and balance skills.

A heartfelt moment came when seniors shared their experiences—some emotional, others funny, but all deeply cherished. The night ended on a delicious note with food prepared by the juniors, especially the enthusiastic first-years who poured their effort into serving and celebrating with their seniors.

Alvida wasn’t just a farewell—it was a celebration of bonds, memories, and the journey shared. It was a day that will stay etched in everyone's hearts.

Promoting a Love for Math: Making Numbers Count in the Classroom

Mathematics doesn't have to be intimidating—it can be exciting, dynamic, and even fun! To truly promote math teaching and learning, we need to shift the focus from rote memorization to meaningful, hands-on experiences. This means integrating real-life applications, using technology like interactive math games and virtual tools, and encouraging students to work together to solve problems. When students see how math connects to their daily lives, they become more curious and invested. It’s also crucial to support our teachers with ongoing professional development so they can bring fresh, effective strategies into the classroom. Most importantly, we must work to create a positive math culture—one that celebrates effort, embraces mistakes as learning opportunities, and helps every student build confidence in their ability to succeed with numbers.

Guiding the Way: Seniors Inspire with Knowledge and Experience!

            Demonstration Class for Semester II

The second semester demonstration classes featured engaging sessions based on innovative teaching models. Devika Murali presented a lesson using the Inquiry Training Model (ITM), which effectively encouraged critical thinking and student participation. She began the session with a captivating story that sparked curiosity and set the stage for inquiry. The lesson smoothly transitioned through all phases of the ITM, from encountering the puzzling situation to formulating explanations and analyzing the inquiry process. Her structured yet interactive approach allowed students to explore content meaningfully while developing problem-solving skills.

Lijin’s class, built on the Constructivist Teaching Model, was equally impressive. Starting with an engaging story, he created a relatable context that helped students connect prior knowledge with new learning. The lesson was carefully planned and executed, covering all phases of the constructivist approach—from activating prior knowledge to reflection and assessment. Students were actively involved in constructing their understanding through group discussions and hands-on activities. Both demonstrations showcased sound pedagogical practices and a deep understanding of the respective teaching models.
