WORKSHOP ON MUSIC COMPOSITION
A special Music Composition Session was organized at Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College as part of the camp activities. The session began at 10:00 a.m. in the General Hall, and it was coordinated by Anayadi Rakesh Sir. The session focused on introducing students to different ragas and musical elements, enabling them to understand how music can be creatively integrated into the teaching-learning process. The presentation was interactive, and students actively participated in exploring musical notes, rhythms, and the mood each raga conveys.
In the afternoon, the students were given an exciting task to compose music based on academic content. Each group was assigned to transform a topic into a musical form. Our group selected the topic “Polygons and Types of Polygons” and composed a song incorporating mathematical concepts, definitions, and examples through rhythmic lyrics and melody. The activity helped enhance creativity, subject understanding, and collaborative learning. Students also recited poems and presented their compositions, making the session lively, innovative, and enjoyable.
