Growth, Gratitude & Goodbyes

 TEACHING PRACTICE PHASE - I

Weekly Reflection - 10

Day 41 (06 october 2025)

This day was a significant test of responsibility as our mentor teachers, Sajeev Sir and Smita Miss, were away on a study tour, leaving us to fully manage the day. I successfully conducted my achievement test for Class 8B during the third period, covering previously taught Mathematics portions, and the students responded confidently, reflecting a solid understanding of the concepts.

Beyond the classroom, we smoothly handled the routine noon meal duties and then coordinated a lively skit practice for the students' upcoming performance, fostering great teamwork and enthusiasm among them. The day was a valuable exercise in independent management, proving to be both productive and well-managed before we wrapped up our dispersal duties and signed out at 4:15 p.m.

Day 42 (07 october 2025)

October 7th, 2025, marked my forty-second day, and it was a prime example of our team successfully navigating a low teacher count due to the Class 10 educational tour. Arriving at 9:15 a.m., I immediately took on substitution duties in the forenoon to ensure the school's normal routine remained undisturbed and also helped the other teachers in arranging the library books.

After assisting efficiently with the noon meal distribution, the highlight of the day arrived during the fifth hour: we coordinated and conducted a School-Based Activity  titled "മാറുന്ന ജീവിതങ്ങൾ ," focused sharply on raising crucial awareness about child labour. The students' enthusiastic participation was truly impactful; their empathy and sincere efforts in presenting this socially relevant theme made the program profoundly meaningful. Concluding the activity by thanking the participants for their excellent cooperation, we returned to our afternoon responsibilities, maintained discipline, and left the school at 4:15 p.m. after dispersal duties, feeling satisfied for having led such a purposeful initiative.

Day 43 (08 october 2025)

October 8th, 2025, marked the forty-third and final day of my Phase I teaching practice, a day rich with nostalgia and fulfillment. Arriving at 9:15 a.m., we immediately took on extra substitution duties to manage the low staff count, ensuring the school day ran smoothly despite the emotionally charged atmosphere of our last working day.

We assisted with the noon meal distribution and continued with routine responsibilities, including organizing the classrooms, but the true highlight came in the afternoon - distributing sweets to the teachers and staff as a small token of gratitude for their constant support. Their reciprocal valuable feedback and kind words made the farewell truly special.

After meeting the Principal and completing the final signing process, we left the school at 4:15 p.m., concluding a wonderful and memorable journey that significantly boosted our learning, confidence, and professional growth.
