TEACHING PRACTISE - PHASE 2
WEEKLY REFLECTION 04
24 November 2025 The fourth week of my teaching practice began with a heavy heart as the school community mourned the passing of a parent of a student in Class 8B. So we were assigned with discipline duty while the teachers went to see the family. I had a class on 9A where I taught them about types of muscles. We later collaborated with the staff for the midday meal service at 12:30 p.m., ensuring a calm environment for the children, and concluded the day with evening dispersal duties.
25 November 2025 The fifteenth day of practice followed a systematic routine, with the school buzzing as students prepared for the district-level Kalolsavam competitions. I reached by 9:15 a.m. and noted the reduced classroom strength due to these cultural rehearsals, which changed the overall energy of the hallways. I had class on 8B and 9A. The rest of the day was dedicated to administrative coordination, including the serving of the noon meal and managing the busy evening dispersal as students balanced their academic tasks with their Kalolsavam commitments.
26 November 2025 My sixteenth day focused heavily on professional consultation and school-wide coordination. Upon arrival at 9:20 a.m. I met my mentor teacher for instructions and signed our lesson plans. The school environment was calm and productive, allowing me ample time in the afternoon to update my teaching records and collaborate with peers before concluding the day with the standard dispersal duty.
27 November 2025 The seventeenth day was marked by a unique intersection of school life and civic activity. As staff from the voter registration department visited the school to prepare for upcoming elections, the campus felt particularly busy and significant, highlighting the school’s role as a community hub. I reached at 9:10 a.m. Despite the external i had m usual class on 8B and got a substitution period also on 8B and the administrative bustle, the school routine remained steady, and we fulfilled our noon meal and dispersal responsibilities with consistent care.
28 November 2025 The week wrapped up on a positive note, marked by both academic progress and a heartfelt moment of connection with students. With many teachers away for Kalolsavam duties, one of the day's highlights came during the break when a student celebrating his birthday stopped by the staff room to gift us pens and handmade cards with personalized notes, bringing warmth to our workspace and highlighting the bond between trainees and students. I covered a substitution class for 8B, and the afternoon was spent in the staff room finalizing lesson plans and organizing materials. We ended the week by helping with the 4:00 p.m. dispersal, leaving the campus with a strong sense of contentment and professional growth.
